INSTALLING STRUCTASEAL^® EPDM ROOFING TO INSULATION BOARDS

The surface must be flat, clean, grease-free and dry. For optimal adhesion, walk through the following points step by step:

Bonding to the roof surface:

• Mark 150 mm from the roof edge using a chalk line.

• Determine the correct position on the roof based on the supplied roll-out sketch.

• Fully unfold the EPDM roofing membrane and drop over the roof edge.

• Half fold the EPDM membrane across the roof.

• Apply the Bonding Adhesive PU over the insulation boards by means of the pouring spout (apart from the 150 mm marked area and the upstands).

• Spread the adhesive evenly over the surface of the insulation boards with a fleece roller. (apart from the 150 mm marked area and the upstands).

• Depending on the temperature, wind and humidity, leave the adhesive for 5 to 20 minutes to allow the solvents to evaporate.

• Roll the EPDM back into the adhesive.

• Brush the EPDM membrane lightly with a soft broom. Repeat the above steps for the other half of the roof surface.

Edge fixation

• Apply SPRAYBOND CONTACT ADHESIVE to the remaining 150 mm of the roof surface and the raised edges.

• When the contact adhesive is touch dry, bond the EPDM bond securely without air pockets. Always work from the middle to the sides. Use a flat hand to wipe the EPDM into the surface and against the upstands. 

• Roll the EPDM with a silicone compression roller.
